Dan O’Neil is Manchester’s Champion

Dan O’Neil is a husband and dad, IBEW electrician, coach, experienced public servant, and lifelong resident of Manchester.
Born to the late Daniel P. O’Neil and Joan M. (Mitchell) O’Neil, Dan grew up in Manchester and graduated from Central High School where he learned lifelong values like hard work, perseverance, and personal responsibility. With the solid foundation of a public school education, he started a career as an IBEW union electrician.
O’Neil was elected to the Board of Mayor and Aldermen in 1986 and since then has served 12 terms as one of your Aldermen-At-Large, as one of Manchester’s state senators, as a member of the Southern NH Planning Commission, and previously on the New Hampshire Rail Transit Authority.
Dan supports a safe, strong Manchester. He has volunteered and advocated for the Manchester Police Athletic League for years as a way to bridge the divide between police and the city, fostering a stronger foundation for kids in our city who need it.
Dan supports a robust economic development program in Manchester to bring quality jobs to local residents. He believes the city has an important role to play in fostering the business environment we need to in order to grow. This is all part of his lifelong work in making Manchester a great place to live, work, and raise a family.
Community involvement is a cornerstone of Dan’s life and commitment to Manchester. He is a member of the New Hampshire Football and Lacrosse Officials Associations. He is the former Director of the Manchester Police Athletic League, Director and Coach of CYO Basketball, and Coach of Pony League Baseball. Dan knows that sports instill values in our children like teamwork and responsibility which may not be learned as easily in a classroom.
Dan and his wife have one son and live in the city’s north end. Dan is an ardent supporter of working families in Manchester and is committed to making it a great place to live, work, and raise a family.
